Attorneys at KBK resolved a class action lawsuit against Farmers Rice Cooperative Inc. with a Settlement Video produced by Verdict Videos for mediation. The case involved the sale of inferior rice that’s marketed as high-grade sushi quality rice. KBK represented a California restaurant that accused the corporation of selling “filthy, putrid, decomposed or substandard rice.” The restaurant owners claimed the defendants store and maintain rice in a substandard fashion that allows for contamination of foreign substances such as insects, rodents and their soiling, bird remains and black mold. The matter settled for a confidential amount. As part of the settlement, Farmers Rice agreed to change the way it does business.
